The design depicts the scenery of rice paddy fields which are well-known in Japan and change throughout the year.
The shape is reminiscent of a single glossy grain of rice, and the coloring is inspired by the image of lush rice and golden ears.
We hope that this pen can be used for many years to come, inspired by the long history of rice culture and the Chinese character 米 which means "rice" and is also used in the celebration of longevity known as 米寿 (Beiju).

A single fountain pen and ink express the passing of the seasons through rice cultivation.

Just as green rice plants ripen to a golden color and eventually return to the soil, the color is greenish immediately after writing, and changes to an earthy color as it dries.
When wetted after drying, the color will develop again as if sprouting green again, and then eventually fade.
